There is also information in the attached doc on limits to dogs, cats, etc.  Surprisingly, you can have more horses on a piece of property than you are allowed dogs...

Hi Don,

Thank you for your inquiry regarding livestock densities.  The Livestock Management Ordinance (LMO) allows three large animals per acre, without a covered confinement area.  If a covered confinement area (barn, shed, stable, etc.) is present, up to six large animals may be kept per acre.  This is contingent on meeting standards in the LMO or having a Farm Management Plan in place.  Here is the link to the code I've referenced: http://www.metrokc.gov/mkcc/code/30-Title%2021A28-21A55.pdf.  The section with the information you're interested in can be found in 21A.30.040.  You'll also note that the minimum lot size for livestock is 20,000 square feet.  The property must also be zoned for livestock.  If the zoning is in question, please let me know and we can explore this further.
